To the editor:Voters of Fryeburg,This year the political discussions are all about change from both sides of the aisle. We have seen the voting process change with early voting in some states, long voting lines, and an increase in the number of absentee ballots. These people could have gone to vote on Tuesday, but for a variety of reasons they have chosen not to. They made a change.Last June, I had to close my business to participate in town meeting. I was concerned when I only saw about 100 people at the meeting. One hundred people! This world is changing. Family and fiscal responsibilities concern most of us. Many are unable to take the day off from work, or caring for loved ones. Many are unable to physically attend due to health issues. Does their vote not count? Shouldn't they be included in the vote and the future of this community? It is time for Fryeburg to adopt change. You will be presented with a referendum question with your ballot regarding a change to the voting process for the warrant articles. By voting for this change, this does not mean there will be no discussion. This does not mean that you not be able to ask questions, or participate with your neighbors. It purely means that everyone will have a right to contribute to the future of Fryeburg, to vote through a referendum.I urge you Fryeburg voters to vote for the change to a "hybrid" meeting format.
