Over the past 42 years, I have had the distinct honor of serving in several elected positions. The responsibilities and challenges of serving fellow citizens are difficult to understand without experiencing them firsthand.

While elected office is not entirely thankless, there are times when it can feel quite lonely, especially when one is guided by the oath of office that binds one to act in a manner that is, “agreeabl(e) to the rules and regulations of this constitution and laws of the state of New Hampshire” often to the displeasure of many citizens.
