CRAWFORD NOTCH — Two hundred years to the day after the tragic Willey Slide that killed all seven members of the Willey family and their two hired workers in Crawford Notch, about 80 people turned out for a commemoration ceremony held by N.H. State Parks last Friday.
The 25-minute ceremony was held across Route 16 from the Willey House site. The event also marked the unveiling of new interpretive displays inside the Willey House Museum, one of several buildings now at the site.
