(The Center Square) — Outgoing Democratic Maine Rep. Jared Golden is bucking his party, once again, to support New York Republican Congressman Mike Lawler's reelection bid. 

In a statement, Golden called Lawler — a moderate GOP lawmaker facing a tough reelection fight in New York's 17th Congressional District — a "true partner" and urged Hudson Valley voters to re-elect him this fall.
