CONWAY — In April, Conway voters supported a rental inspection program, but the program came under fire from property owners who sued the town. Then, late in the year, the town put the program on hold until the upcoming town meeting when changes can be adopted.
Town voters overwhelmingly passed a warrant article to allow the inspection and regulation of long- and short-term rentals. The article required rental properties to pass a life-safety inspection, after which the town would grant them a certificate of rental compliance. The article essentially gave the voters’ blessing on a program the selectmen had adopted previously.
