CONWAY — Superintendent Carl Nelson is doing a solid job at the helm of SAU 9, according to recent evaluations by school board members from across the district. Jane Gray, of Eaton, the chair of the SAU 9 Board, made that announcement last week and then recommended a 3.6 percent raise for Nelson, who is in his 15th year as superintendent for SAU 9.

"It was a very strong evaluation," Gray told members of the SAU 9 Executive Board last week. The executive board is made up of chairs from the Albany, Bartlett, Chatham, Conway, Eaton, Hart's Location and Jackson school boards. "If the board wants specifics then we'll have to go into non-public session."
