BARTLETT — A man who injured a police officer in a 2 a.m. struggle last December in the Story Land pedestrian tunnel pleaded guilty to assault and other charges Wednesday and expressed remorse for his actions.

While police would have preferred that Sean Bellwood, 22, of Standish, Maine, be sentenced to a full year in jail, Bartlett Police Chief Chris Keaton said he is satisfied that Bellwood will serve eight months in jail with additional suspended time, loss of license, restitution and community service. Bellwood gets no time off for good behavior.
