Tranifer Lovely

Tranifer Lovely, an artist living in Hiram, Maine, came out as queer in 2003 and realized they were in nonbinary in 2005. (COURTESY OF TRANIFER LOVELY)

I’ve known Tranifer Lovely, a local artist who identifies as nonbinary, for more than a decade. They used to be the co-host of my movie review show “Lost in Movies,” and were in my wedding party when I got married in 2014.

In honor of Pride Month, I asked them to share their queer journey.
