TAMWORTH — The federal Roadless Rule, which may be repealed, protects the "most iconic" views in New Hampshire, that of Mount Chocorua, a panel of experts told a crowd of about two dozen people at Cook Memorial Library on Wednesday.
The panel consisted of Zack Porter of Montpelier, Vt., executive director of Standing Trees, a grassroots coalition working to protect the forests on public lands; Jerry Curran, chair of the New Hampshire Sierra Club’s Public Lands Committee; and Jeff Swayze, a longtime New Hampshire fishing and outdoor recreation guide and conservationist.
