CONWAY — There’s no place like home to run fast, and Coach Bernie Livingston admits he was surprised by how well his harriers ran as seven girls on the Kennett High cross-country team set personal records while two others posted season-bests and seven out of eight boys set person-best times when the Eagles hosted the annual Kennett Invitational at the Kennett Middle School on Saturday afternoon.

“We had a great day,” Livingston said. “The competition was fierce and it brought the best of our guys and gals. We exceeded my expectations by a lot. We had nine girls run: seven set personal bests and had season bests. For the boys, we had seven out of eight set personal bests and the other came within two seconds of a PR. Everyone who ran, either ran a season or personal best. That never happens. I think the last time it did was last last at Hopkinton, which is an extremely fast course.”
