MOUNT WASHINGTON — The solo backcountry skier killed in a human-triggered avalanche on Raymond Cataract just northeast of Tuckerman Ravine Thursday has not yet been identified, pending notification of next of kin, according to Evan Burks, public affairs officer for the U.S. Forest Service.

A posting by lead Snow Ranger Frank Carus of the Mount Washington Avalanche Center at mountwashingtonavalanchecenter.org referred to the victim as a man.
