TAMWORTH — The idea of reconfiguring Tamworth’s Four Corners — the confluence of Chocorua Road and Main Street (Route 113 running east and west) and Tamworth Road and Chinook Road (113A, north and south) by the Unitarian Universalist Church — as a four-way stop to increase safety was brought up at a recent Tamworth selectmen’s meeting by a Department of Transportation official.

Bill Lambert of NH-DOT attended the July 22 meeting to discuss the idea of making the intersection a four-way stop. He said that “all way stops” have been successful in other towns, like Franconia at the intersection of Route 18 and 116 and Auburn at the intersections of Route 121, Manchester and Raymond Roads.
