OSSIPEE — A man accused of torturing and killing cats and placing their remains on a public path is scheduled to be sentenced in Carroll County Superior Court today. If the prosecution gets its way, he may be sentenced to 12 years; however, the man is asking the judge for a much lighter sentence.

The hearing will begin at 1 p.m. Judge Mark Attorri is presiding.
