TAMWORTH — Carroll County Adult Education is one of the first recipients of some of the $28,000 that Tamworth-based Altrusa International of Carroll County received by participating in charitable gaming with a casino in Dover.

Altrusa is a service organization founded in 1917. Carroll County has had a branch since 2006. Its motto is “making our communities better through leadership, partnership and service.”
