CONCORD — For employees laid off due to the coronavirus, the state has waived the usual weeklong waiting period, and once enrolled they should receive their first check in a week and a half, says Commissioner of New Hampshire Employment Security George Copadis.

“Every claim is different, and there could be holds on individuals, but the goal is a week and a half, said Copadis told the Sun in a phone interview Tuesday.
