CONWAY — The Mountain Garden Club is pleased to announce that it will be continuing its tradition of offering individual scholarships in the amount of $1,200 per recipient with a maximum of 4 awards. These scholarships will be awarded to high school graduates and/or post secondary students. This program is open to residents of the Mount Washington Valley, including all towns served by Kennett High School (SAU9, SAU13) and Fryeburg Academy (SAD 72).

The Mountain Garden Club scholarship program is named after Alice T. Madden, a lifetime member, who was dedicated to assisting the youth of Mount Washington Valley pursue higher education in any of the “green” disciplines. The Mountain Garden Club established the scholarship program to encourage students expressing an interest in continuing their studies in agriculture, floriculture, environmental science, environmental conservation, horticulture, landscape design, botany, forestry, habitat, forest systems ecology, land management and/or other related or allied areas of study. Students interested in pursuing studies outside the above areas should contact the Mountain Garden Club Scholarship Committee.
