CONWAY — Every autumn, people come to the White Mountains to marvel at the fantastic fall foliage display. And in addition to stopping by Zeb’s General Store, Settlers Green outlet mall, the Mt. Washington Auto Road and other local wonders, many head to the Conway Scenic Railroad to ride the rails and enjoy the colorful, fleeting color display.

On Oct. 14, leaf peepers were lined up outside the North Conway Train Station, waiting to board one of the trains. Some had driven to the station; others arrived via motor coaches. All were eager to take in the region’s colorful fall splendor of reds, oranges and yellows.
