Habitat for Humanity has a new fundraising concept: Businesses, groups and individuals can "sponsor a stud" on a new Habitat home being built in Madison. Above, a poster announcing the drive.
CONWAY — Sponsor a Stud is a fundraising concept that has been around the Habitat for Humanity community for some time but is new to the Mount Washington Valley Habitat for Humanity affiliate. Fundraising opportunities change, but the necessity to finance the Valley Habitat building programs remains unchanged.
The idea was actually raised last summer by Anthony Ruddy, who heads the Habitat construction committee, and by Cathy Steesy, a very active volunteer.
