FRYEBURG, Maine — Fryeburg firefighters say they are pleased with the new “turnout gear” they received on a federal grant. They say various innovative features will make it easier for them to save lives and stay safe.

Chief Andy Dufresne said the new turnout gear, the protective outfits worn by firefighters, arrived this week and firefighters got to try them on for the first time Wednesday evening. Early this year, they received thermal cameras and other new safety features.
