CONWAY — Selectmen on Tuesday defended their paid parking program after the vice chair of the school board slammed the resident sticker fee at town recreation sites as being an unfair tax.

Ryan Wallace questioned whether the town should be charging residents $5 for stickers. The paid parking program also involves charging non resident guests for use of some facility parking lots.
