BARTLETT — Citizens voted to take a leadership role in education at the annual Bartlett School Meeting on Tuesday night.

Josiah Bartlett Elementary School was the first school in the state to offer full-day kindergarten more than 25 years ago. Now it will be the first school in Mount Washington Valley to offer an integrated preschool after townspeople voted 191-68 by secret ballot to support a $149,346 warrant article to get the program off the ground.
