BARTLETT — A Bartlett man accused of beating another man to the point of causing a brain bleed was recently ordered held without bail by a Superior Court judge and the very next day was indicted by a Carroll County Superior Court grand jury.

Joseph Velez, 41, is accused of beating Nicholas Beck by punching him and elbowing him in the head, causing a traumatic brain bleed and a fractured skull during an incident on Oct. 26 at a residence on North Ledge Road in Glen.
