BARTLETT — A 3-2 vote by the Bartlett School Board on Tuesday caused a ripple effect across the North Country, and by the end of the three-hour meeting, citizens pleaded with the board to reconsider.

The board balked at joining nine other North Country schools (two in Berlin, two in Gorham, along with Errol, Milan, Pittsburg, Colebrook and Stewartstown) to form the required 10 schools to apply for a Renew America’s School Prize Grant, which could have led to $7.8 million in funding from the Department of Energy which would have been disbursed across the districts.
