CONWAY — A Bartlett man accused of beating another man to the point of causing a brain bleed was ordered held without bail Monday by a circuit judge.

Joseph Velez, 41, of Bartlett faces a Class A felony charge of first-degree assault for allegedly beating Nicholas Beck by punching him and elbowing him in the head, causing a traumatic brain bleed and a fractured skull during an incident on Oct. 26 at North Ledge Road, according to documents filed by Bartlett Police Cpl. David Courville.
