MADISON — Former Madison public works director Josh Shackford has been indicted on a felony theft; however, he has reportedly moved to Kentucky and was able to get the Carroll County Superior Court to postpone his first appearance. 

On July 17, a Carroll County grand jury on July 17 returned an indictment against hackford, 51, formerly of Madison, charging him with theft by unauthorized taking, a Class B felony.
