CONWAY — Rescuers were out well past dark on Thursday for a second night this week, this time to find a man who fell near the summit of 3,490-foot Mount Chocorua.

The call came in around 3:15 p.m., state Fish and Game Conservation Officer Alex Lopashanski said. Twenty-year-old John Ng reported he'd ascended the Piper Trail to the summit, where he slipped, slid down steep snow-covered rock slabs for about 70 feet and landed in the snow and trees. Ng was uninjured, Lopashanski said, but he was unable to move, stuck just below the summit on the west side of the mountain.
