CONWAY — It used to be a matter of going “Hog Wild” back in the day, but it was more “Hog Mild” at last Saturday night saw a sentimental gathering of old friends at the North Conway Country Club, a brotherhood and sisterhood of mud, of MWV Hogs and Hoggettes from the glory days of the 1970s-90s when the Hometown Heroes won 11 championships.

As at the last reunion held in 2018, the gathering was organized by Mud Bowl legends Gary “Hog of Steel” Sheldon, David Cianciolo and Richard DeAngelis, the latter of whom co-founded the Hogs with my late brother Steve Eastman in 1975 at Richard’s bar, the Alpine, known as the “Fun Spot of the North Country,” off Skimobile Road near Cranmore.
