ASHLAND — A Madison woman attending a political meeting about 200 feet from a police shooting Monday night said she locked the doors after gunfire erupted nearby.

Susan Martin of Madison, a field representative for Turning Point Action, a branch of TPUSA — a non-profit  that advocates for conservative politics at schools and colleges, founded in 2012 by the late Charlie Kirk — was at a Grafton County GOP meeting in the American Legion building in Ashland when the incident unfolded on Main Street.
