Madison Town Column: Madison Library to host League of Women Voters New Hampshire Oct. 16

Fall is in half-swing this week, and Madison folks have been confused as to whether to take the boats out on the lake, or get the appointments to have them winterized. Other folks have been busy adorning their properties with decorations of pumpkins and scarecrows and heading out to pick apples for pies.

While it’s true that most times the smell of apple pie is in the air, temperatures in the 80s often make one nostalgic for the smell of sunblock and the beach, and some die-hards have been seen in their chairs, attempting to squeeze in one more day of summer. By the time you’re reading this, it’s likely the fall air has returned, and the typical New England tradition of cycling the AC for the heat every 12 hours is among us.
