On Wednesday, some Madison residents fled at the sight of a yellow orb that protruded from the clouds. After some reassurance from the weatherman, we were delighted to learn that this orb was in fact, the sun. I’ve done my level best from throwing a temper tantrum over the weather this week, however, my cabin fever is beginning to reach peak proportions. I’m sure yours is as well. My small flock of chickens remained inside their coop in protest of the weather. They are extending us dirty looks (as much as chickens can), and Sarah dodges pecks as she collects eggs, as if we are to blame.
Thankfully, there have been some escapes from this New England spring. On Tuesday, we were treated to dinner and a movie at Madison Elementary School, for the recreation department’s “Be Our Guest” event. On Tuesday morning, 25 students helped in the preparation from 8 to 11 a.m., then 12 students that evening came and “worked the floor.”
