A Hometown Heroes Breakfast will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Fryeburg Fire Station. The Fryeburg Area Rotary, Fryeburg Academy Interact Club and the Molly Ockett Early Act Club will honor our hometown heroes with a free pancake breakfast. In appreciation for all of their sacrifice and service, they invite all first responders, firefighters, police officers, rescue members, sheriffs, state police, wardens, EMTs, their families and the public to join them. RSVP on the Fryeburg Rotary Facebook page.
The Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center’s Bradley Backstage Concert Series will be presenting Junco (Unplugged) on Friday, Feb. 15, at 7:30 p.m. This is a rare opportunity to see the band perform completely acoustic. Junco performs an original blend of rock, folk and funk. The band is comprised of bassist Anthony Branca, lead guitarist Jeremy Holden, drummer Alex Ouellette, lead singer/guitarist Bobby Sheehan, and oboist Dan Stackhouse. All of the band members — with the exception of Branca — graduated from Fryeburg Academy and often credit the school for fostering their love of music. Junco’s lively presence, upbeat themes, and improvisational approach all add up to a feel-good, stimulating and ever-evolving style of music.
