Our 121st Old Home Week is over but what a week it was. Thank you to all who contributed to the success of the many events, whether planning or attending.

Many people have noticed that there were no loon chicks on Loon Lake this season. Jay Kenty, Loon Preservation Committee volunteer for Loon Lake, reports that, although it appears we have the same paired adult loons as in recent years, they did not nest. Our very successful past chick production has resulted in Loon Lake’s rating in New Hampshire’s top tier for chick production. However, over history, only about two-thirds of New Hampshire’s paired adults actually nest, therefore, this year’s result is not highly unusual.
