CONWAY — Have you ever wondered how many different sounds a guitar can make? Come to the Majestic Theater Saturday and find out, as the California Guitar Trio acoustic-electric ensemble stretches the limits of their fleet of guitars. Paul Richards, Bert Lams, and Tom Griesgraber play an eclectic repertoire, drawing from genres that include rock, new-age, jazz, folk and more — even a bit of California surf!
Their stunning virtuosity and sly sense of humor have earned them an enthusiastic following and wide fame, with significant crossover to the progressive, acoustic and even classical music scenes. One the trio’s more unusual instruments is the Chapman Stick: shaped like the fretboard of a guitar, but played more like a piano, it produces a wide range of sounds and sonic textures. This will be an exciting evening for lovers of guitar music, and fun for all.
