Around 120 people enjoyed the fantastic Fourth of July picnic. Yes, it was hot but you could get relief under the tent and by going into our beautiful Crystal Lake. It really does take a village, and it is important that I thank everyone of them, or this party would never have happened. First, Sunni and Ralph Wilkewitz for coming up with this idea umpteen years ago, where it has built up to a huge number of townspeople and their families. Three of four people now do what Sunni and Ralph did. Thank you.

To feed a crowd, you must have good food and even better cooks. Huge thanks to Chris Kennedy and Tom Head for getting and cooking the burgers, the hot dogs, the veggie burgers, with or without cheese, and buns. The guys set up their own tent with grills and organized all the cooking. Thank you. Salads seemed to be the hit of the day as it was so hot, and the cold salads couldn’t have tasted better. Add to that the delicious desserts and you have a real barbecue picnic. Many thanks to everyone who brought delicacies to share. It was certainly a communal effort.
