EFFINGHAM — To kick off national Winter Salt Week, Green Mountain Conservation Group will host a local roundtable discussion on the importance of salt reduction on Monday, Jan. 26, from 1:15-3:15 p.m. at 236 Huntress Bridge Road in Effingham.

The afternoon program will highlight the harmful effects of excessive use of salt on the health of our lakes, streams and drinking water, and ways that municipalities, businesses and local property owners can reduce the use of salt on roadways, sidewalks and driveways.
