William "Franklin" Jones Sr.

William “Franklin” Jones Sr. of Madison, N.H., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026. He was born on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1932, at his grandparent’s house in Chocorua, N.H.

From a young age, Franklin demonstrated ambition and a strong sense of responsibility. During a period when his father was ill for an extended time, Franklin worked various jobs to help support his family. At the age of 12, he was employed loading freight cars with ammunition boxed for J.F. Chick, during World War II. He also worked at the Chocorua Village store.
