Melissa Stacey was born in Cambridge, Mass. She relocated to Madison, N.H., lived in Kearsage, N.H., and then Conway, N.H., in 1987. She attended Kennett High School.

She last worked at Paris Farmer Union in North Conway prior to relocating to Tennessee four years ago.
