The Rev. James P. McAlpine, 87, of Hartford, Conn., died Jan. 6, 2019, at the Sentry Hill Retirement Community in York Harbor, Maine, where he was lovingly cared for by their staff and by the hospice workers from Beacon Hospice.

Born July 16, 1931, son of the late John Paul and Julia (Farrissey) McAlpine, Jim graduated from Trinity College in Hartford and later from the Episcopal Theological School in Cambridge, Mass.
