TAMWORTH — On Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m., Tamworth resident Geoffrey Burke will present a talk and slideshow, “Hospital and Haven: 30 Years of Practicing Medicine in a Remote Native Village in the early 1900s" at the Cook Memorial Library.

Burke will share photographs and talk about his grandparents’ missionary work in northern Alaska delivering healthcare to Native communities, which has been documented in the recently published book “Hospital and Haven: The Life and Work of Grafton and Clara Burke in Northern Alaska,” by Mary F. Ehrlander with Hild M. Peters, published by the University of Nebraska Press.
