EFFINGHAM — April 22 is the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day and to celebrate, the Green Mountain Conservation Group has created a YouTube Channel dedicated to providing educational science and nature tutorials for children and their families that can be done at home and in the backyard.

Since 1997, GMCG has been conducting water quality monitoring and biological assessments in the Ossipee Watershed, becoming the hub for a volunteer community of citizen scientists dedicated to protecting shared natural resources. GMCG also provides an array of water literacy programs conducted in local schools, such as the Volunteer Biological Assessment Program, Trout In the Classroom and GET WET! groundwater education.
