OSSIPEE — The Greater Ossipee Area Chamber of Commerce members are chanting, "Volcanofest, Volcanofest, Volcanofest," a celebration of one of the region's natural wonders that they hope will draw visitors to the area.

“No, we are not sacrificing virgins to the Volcano gods”, said chamber Executive Director Marletta Maduskuie. “We are planning a festival with volcanic possibilities to our chamber members in the greater Ossipee area: Effingham, Freedom, Madison, Ossipee, Sandwich and Tamworth. Creating family-oriented events and educational opportunities for visitors and locals to enjoy and explore this unique area.”
