Van life is all the rage lately. Maybe it’s been empowered by the gig economy or the ability through the wonders of technology to earn a living from remote locations. Or, as in the case of van life, from no location at all. For those unacquainted, van life is the ground-bound equivalent to sailing around the world, seeing remote sights, getting back to nature — albeit while burning fossil fuels, getting off grid and feeding the vicarious fantasies of those trapped in a mundane existence.
Van life is bohemian, transient, devoid of commitment, living life on no one’s terms save your own, laughing in the face of social convention, eating vegan, drinking sunlight, feeding the elephant in the room — technology — through renewable sources like solar and wind.
