It’s difficult not to be influenced to some extent by politics, and the automotive industry is not immune. Changes in administration priorities and policies put pressure on business leaders to navigate the dichotomy between current trends and quest for profits.

The past several years have seen automakers shift from internal combustion engines to electric power as world leaders pushed to curb fossil fuel use and emissions, but such a paradigm shift eats up a lot of time and resources. It’s like trying to turn a cruise ship on a dime so once the decision is made it takes a lot of effort to redirect again, but here we are.
