I was reading an article on the Hagerty automotive website, recently, regarding a study out of the Netherlands that examined the impact of ADAS or Automated Driver Assist Systems. These are the features that are becoming increasingly mandated on vehicles to save us from ourselves. They’re sort of like training wheels for fully autonomous cars or a sippy cup of convenience so drivers don’t overdose on inattention.

Hagerty notes this investigation used worldwide data to examine the impact of various ADAS on reducing traffic accidents. 28 different driver aids were involved from basic information like TPMS — tire pressure monitoring systems to more advanced features like AEB — automatic emergency braking.
