The auto industry is moving forward in ways that don’t always make general headlines. The latest growth seems mostly in the tech sector, and the advancements are pretty impressive, though they don’t really touch the average driver in ways that would have an immediate effect on our perceived needs. Most of the changes might even look like a step backwards to those of us who actually enjoy cars and interactive driving.

Mobileye’s goal is a smarter, safer driverless future, its website says, and it has just released its EyeQ6 Lite system-on-chip and software that promises improvements in artificial intelligence and advanced machine learning algorithms.
