Saco River Campground in North Conway is adding a swimming pool to its offerings.Shawn Bergeron, representing owner John McClure, of Chaco Inc., appeared before the Conway Planning Board last week seeking to have the pool exempted from major site-plan review. The board unanimously agreed, since the pool, which would take up only about 1,500 square feet on a 45-acre parcel, would not impact green space, parking or landscaping requirements.Permission had already been granted by the zoning board of adjustment to construct the pool within the floodplain conservation district.Saco River Campground is located just south of the Yankee Settlements site, behind Yield House. Bergeron said he believes the owner is planning to construct the pool for the coming season.
