Sixteen veterans representing all three wars were honored by Governor Baldacci and Major General Libby. The United Church of Christ Thrift Shop has reopened with the fall and winter line of clothes. The ladies worked hard to fill the racks for the change of season. The shop is open Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon, and is located on Route 5 in Center Lovell. The weekend before Labor Day weekend I went on a discovery mission. I drove to Pemequid to visit my niece. Driving Route 1, I finally got to see the new bridge at Bath and Wiscasset. I remember when I did tours to Booth Bay Harbor those old bridges that were so rickety but had Maine character. I visited the Pemequid Lighthouse and Fort Williams Henry which was built around a huge rock. Good to find these hidden away places in Maine.
