“The Marvels,” the 33rd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is a fast and funny female-centric superhero adventure. Alas, it’s also heading to be a box office disaster.
The sequel to 2019’s “Captain Marvel” made $46 million in its opening weekend and currently has made $114 million worldwide. That may seem like a strong start, but that’s the lowest MCU opening since 2008’s “The Incredible Hulk,” the second film in the franchise.
