CONWAY — The 2025 Authors at the Pope Series, the collaboration between White Birch Books and the Pope Memorial Library, continues with Vermont author Helen Whybrow, who will be talking about her critically acclaimed book, “The Salt Stones: Seasons of a Shepherd’s Life.” She will be at the Pope Memorial Library on Saturday, June 21, at 5 p.m.
For more than 20 years, Whybrow and her partner have been stewards of the Knoll Farm, part of the Vermont Land Trust, raising Icelandic sheep and organic blueberries. “The Salt Stones” tells the whole story from restoring the two-hundred-acre farm back into a working farm and bringing the worn out fields back to life. She talks about the lessons and wisdom that come from raising a family, tending sheep, and living close to the land and how the art of shepherding extends far beyond the flock and fences.
