Three members of the Mount Washington Valley Skating Club recently challenged themselves by taking official United States Figure Skating Association tests. On March 24, associate member and Junior Coach Stacy McAllister attended a USFSA test session hosted by the North Atlantic Figure Skating Club where she passed the Fiesta Tango dance test successfully fulfilling requirements for the Pre Bronze dance level. McAllister followed this up on June 17th by taking and passing her Intermediate Freestyle and Novice Moves-In-The-Field tests at a test session hosted by the Great Bay Figure Skating Club in Dover. At an earlier test session on May 5, also hosted by the Great Bay Figure Skating Club, members Grace Ryan and Victoria Weigold both successfully passed their Pre-Juvenile Moves-In-The-Field tests. As a non-profit organization, whose mission is to promote the sport of figure skating here in the Mount Washington Valley, the MWVSC applauds the accomplishments of these skaters. The club continues to offer group and private skating lessons structured after USFSA guidelines and taught by its expert coaching staff. All lessons are conducted at the state of the art Ham Arena in Conway. Interested individuals of all ages and abilities are encouraged to visit www.mwvsc.org to learn more about the club, its programs and upcoming events.
